WHAT IF I HAVE BEEN CALLED TO BE A JUROR?
Check your summons to be sure you are called for the BURNET MUNICIPAL COURT as there are several courts in the Burnet area. If you have been called to serve you will need to appear at the Burnet City Council Chambers at the Burnet Municipal Airport on Hwy. 281 South. You can call the Burnet Municipal Court Voice Mail System to get further details on your appearance. Just call (512) 756-2822 and choose Option 1.
DO I HAVE TO SEE THE JUDGE?
You may not have to see the judge. Many citation related tasks can be handled by the court clerk by appearing at the Court window at City Hall. You can also take care of most of the court related tasks by mail.
WHEN IS MY COURT DATE?
Your "court date" (the date by which you must take care of your citation) will depend on the date you received your citation. Typically, your court date is 20 days after the date of your citation. Juveniles who received a citation must appear before the judge with a PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN. The judge is typically at the court office between 8:30 a.m. and noon, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Pre-trials and trials are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. All non-traffic violations require an appointment to see the Judge. Contact the court and an appointment time will be scheduled for you.

WHAT ARE COURT COSTS?
Court “costs” are fees that are paid to the State of Texas and are not the same thing as your fine. You will be charged court costs whether or not you appear before the judge. Court costs vary depending upon the type of citation received. Note that the state has increased the court costs by $4.00 effective December 1, 2005.
