CITY DEPARTMENTS: Department of Parks & Recreation
The City of Burnet offers citizens a variety of recreational opportunities across the city including parks, sports fields, nature walks, a municipal golf course and state-of-the-art recreational facilities.

Galloway-Hammond Recreation Center

The Galloway-Hammond Recreation Center opened its doors to the community in April of 1999. This state-of-the-art recreational facility offers the citizens of Burnet a variety of recreational activities from indoor swimming pools to nature walkways and sports fields. Also offered are RV facilities with three-way hookups. Portions of the facility are available for rental. Call (512) 756-6180 for more information. |

Delaware Springs Golf Course

Delaware Springs Golf Course is an 18-hole championship golf course located in the heart of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. The course offers a pro shop, driving range, putting green, snack bar and dining room overlooking the number eighteen green. Call Delaware Springs for tee times. (512) 756-8471. |

Community Center

The Community Center is a 9600 square foot convention and activity center with a full kitchen and large and small meeting rooms. Available for rental by the general public, the facility is conveniently located adjacent to the Historic Square and two blocks off of State Highway 29. Contact the Department of Parks and Recreation at (512) 756-6180 for rental information. |

City Parks - The City provides numerous parks across the city including several neighborhood parks. |

Hamilton Creek Park is located in the heart of the City and boasts lighted walk ways on either side of the creek, picnic areas, pavilion, gazebo, children's play area and fountains along the creek. Parking is accessed from US Highway 281 one block west of Highway 281 on Jackson Street. |

Burnet Quad offers ball fields, a playscape, picnic facilities, an indoor concession stand and a covered pavilion. For scheduling call GHRC at (512) 756-6180.

Splash Park The Splash Park, located just outside the Galloway-Hammond Recreation Center, offers zero depth fun for the little ones. Check in at GHRC. |

Skate Park The skate park is located at Wallace Riddell Park on Highway 29 East at Rhomberg. |

Under Construction - Haley-Nelson Park, 51 acres of city parkland featuring soccer fields, disk golf, picnic pavilion, horseshoe complex and walking and hiking trails. Construction is expected to begin spring 08. |
