Currently, the Burnet Police Department employs thirteen full time officers including the Chief of Police, a criminal investigator, one patrol sergeant, two patrol corporals, eight patrol officers of which two are K-9 officers. The department also employs an animal control officer and an office administrator.
The Burnet Police Department is looking for new and experienced peace officers that are willing to donate a little of their time in support of the community. Applicants must hold at least a Basic Texas Peace Officer Certification and be in compliance with all TCLEOSE rules and regulation. Experience is preferred but not required. Non-paid (Reserve) officers are expected to work approximately 16 hours a month and to be available to supplement the full-time officers during special events. Uniforms are furnished.
