Burnet Tourism Alliance
The Burnet Tourism Alliance meets once per quarter, on the first
Monday of the quarter at 3:00 p.m. in the Burnet City Hall Conference Room.
Meetings are open to the public.
The activities of the board include:
- The board shall plan, develop, facilitate, coordinate and recommend an
annual schedule of the programs and events for the community consistent
with the purposes of the program and that will directly affect tourism in
the City of Burnet.
- The board shall encourage participation in the program by eligible entities,
shall disseminate information about the program, shall qualify applicants
to the program and shall recommend and oversee the award of funds.
- The board shall assimilate data regarding the results of each program
funded and the estimated effect on tourism in the City of Burnet and shall
present this data to the City Council as part of the budgeting process.
- The board shall award funds to qualified applicants in accordance to the
guidelines for expenditures of the hotel/motel
tax fund. Click here for the current

FUNDING
CALL FOR GRANTS: The BTA has issued a Call For Grants for the October - December 2011 grant cycle. Submit grant applications (below) and appropriate documentation to the Burnet Tourism Alliance, P.O. Box 1369, Burnet, TX 78611.
Applications for funding are currently accepted on a quarterly basis. You should submit your application for funding to the board no later than four weeks prior to the quarterly deadline of the Call for Grants.
Beginning with the fiscal year 2009-2010 (October 1, 2009) the board has implemented a quarterly funding cycle. The deadline for each grant cycle will typically be four to six weeks prior to the beginning of the new grant period. Grant cycles will be October 1, January 1, April 1, and July 1. Persons interested in submitting a grant can contact Crista Bromley at the City of Burnet or any BTA member. More information will be provided as new fiscal year approaches.
The
BTA is funded through tax dollars generated by the City of Burnet hotel-motel
tax.
