HABIB H. ERKAN JR.

                Currently the Assistant City Manager for the City of Burnet, Habib Erkan’s professional career reflects eight years as an assistant city attorney for the City of San Antonio (1992-2000), where he was the attorney directly responsible for providing legal counsel to the planning, building inspection, code compliance and purchasing departments, seven years as a city attorney for the City of Helotes (2000-2007) where he provided legal counsel to all aspects of the municipality’s operation, and eight years as a senior associate attorney with the firm Denton, Navarro, Rocha Bernal & Zech, PC, where he provided city attorney, municipal prosecutor and economic development corporate counsel support to a number of Texas municipalities including Bay City, Burnet, Castroville, Cibolo, Copperas Cove, Charlotte, Dickinson, Fair Oaks Ranch, Leon Valley, Live Oak, Saint Hedwig,  Universal City, and Wielder.

            Mr. Erkan actively participates in the community. He is a member of the San Antonio Bar Association, the San Antonio Chapter of Inns of Court, and served on the Bandera Road City Church Board of Elders (2007-2014), He is a U. S. Soccer licensed coach and coached numerous boys and girls youth teams with Alamo City Soccer Association (1996-2004) and the YMCA (2012-2018).  

Mr. Erkan was born in Miami Florida, and was admitted to practice law by the Texas Bar in 1990.   Mr. Erkan is a 1990 graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Law and a 1985 graduate of the University of Houston Clear Lake, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in behavior science.
