Benefit-eligible employees may participate in the Flexible Spending Account Benefit Plan, which corresponds to Section 125 of the IRS Code. The plan allows employees to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible medical, dental, vision and health related expenses, which are not reimbursed by an insurance plan. 

Waiver of Medical Insurance: Benefit-eligible employees have the opportunity to decline offered medical insurance through the City of Burnet and be paid up to $41.50 per month in lieu of medical insurance.To be eligible, employees must have written proof of other medical insurance. After written proof has been verified with the Benefits Office, payment will be made in accordance with and through the City’s payroll schedule on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment.These contribution levels will be evaluated annually and are not indicative of future  benefits.
