Street Department

The Street Department is responsible for maintenance, repair and replacement of the streets within the City limits and numerous parking lots at City facilities.  There are 52 miles of City streets that are currently maintained by the department. Crews perform asphalt patching, resurfacing, crack sealing, pothole patching, grading uneven streets, sidewalks. This division also performs drainage system and culvert repairs. They respond to emergency call out situations by barricading, sandbagging, cleaning storm drains and sanding roadways as needed.

In addition, the Street Department is very instrumental in preparing for and cleaning up after the many festivals and events that occur in the city.
