Planning & Zoning Commission
Overview
The Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) is a board established by the Home Rule Charter and by ordinance charged with the following tasks: (a) exercise preliminary authority over platting and subdividing of land within and outside the corporate limits of the City as authorized by law; (b) recommend to the City Council approval or disapproval of zoning and proposed changes in the City's zoning ordinance and plan, and (c) recommend to the City Council any plans for the physical development of the City. The P&Z consists of no more than seven (7) and no less than five (5) members who must be residents of the City who are qualified to vote in City elections.
Meetings
The Planning & Zoning Commission regularly meets every 1st Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, at the Burnet Municipal Airport, Hwy. 281 South, unless a special meeting is scheduled.
